A little about me:
I’m home grown right here in Utah, born and raised along the Wasatch front. I went to high school in Utah County and got my undergraduate degree from Utah State University in Anthropology and Archaeology with a minor in history and dreamed of becoming the next Indiana Jones. So how did that lead to a life of Finance?
After college, my first exposure to any notion of finance was as in a banking and credit role with a highly renowned vehicle company. There, I learned a lot about the banking industry and cut my teeth on hard work in a 9-5 job while attending grad school for my MBA. After several years of working there and another bank I found myself working for one of, if not the largest, Wall Street banks, Goldman Sachs. There was so much more complexity and so much more to learn and grow as I took on a role in their operational finance and banking department. After three years in this role, my wife and I were expecting our first child. This shift in my personal life lead me to know that I needed to change my career to spend more time with my family, so I started in a corporate finance role for a local technology firm. There, I partnered with all departments doing corporate finance work. The move to technology from banking was tough but it proved my I love for being challenged. I have learned so much from these roles and I now work in a finance role within the healthcare industry.
I believe my breadth of knowledge gained from working within the banking, technology and healthcare industries has helped me to reach a new passion, sharing this knowledge with you.
